Tesco Home Panels and any accompanying communication relating to Tesco Home Panels is provided to you free of charge by Tesco Stores Ltd. By registering to participate in Tesco Home Panels, you agree to these Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, we would kindly ask that you do not register for or use the Tesco Home Panels website.

In these Terms, the following words have specific meanings:
The Scheme means the Tesco Home Panels scheme.

We, us, our etc. means Tesco Stores Limited, and/or any affiliate, and
You, your, yours, etc. means you, the user of the Website and/or participant in the Scheme.
We may update these Terms from time to time including for legal or regulatory reasons or to ensure proper operations of the Website. Any changes will be notified to you via the e-mail address provided by you on registration or suitable announcement on the Website. These updates will apply to your use of the Scheme once notice has been given. By continuing to use the Website or participate in the Scheme after such notification, you agree to be bound by the updated Terms.
To participate in the Scheme:
Once registered as a member in the Scheme, we require you to ensure that the details you provide about yourself, and your family are correct and complete and are kept updated at any time.
Only one registration for the Scheme is allowed per participant. Any linked participants (for example children for school wear/pets for pet food) must be registered to a single participant only. Any duplicate accounts may result in your account being deactivated.
When you register to join the Scheme, you will be asked to create your own password. You must keep this password confidential and must not share it with anyone. You are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account credentials. If you become aware of or suspect any unauthorised use of your password or account, you must contact us immediately.
If we have reason to believe that there is likely to be a breach of security or misuse of the Home Panel Portal, we may require you to change your password or we may suspend your use of the Tesco Home Panels.
These Terms refer to our Privacy and Cookies Policy which sets out the terms on which we process any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us as part of the Scheme and set out information about the cookies on the Website.
As a member of the Scheme, you will be invited to participate in research activities including surveys, community discussions, product tests/trials, face to face or online focus group discussions and interviews. These will mostly take place online but from time to time you may be invited to participate in-person, for example, by visiting a local supermarket or other locations. Clear instructions will be provided by the Tesco Home Panels team beforehand in each case.
We regularly review the quality of survey and feedback responses. Responses may be flagged for review if they appear false, nonsensical, lack adequate detail, show repetitive or patterned answers, or indicate dormant activity. Members may also be removed if an individual fails to complete feedback for a product trial. This may result in restriction, suspension or termination of Tesco Home Panels membership, and in certain circumstances forfeiture of incentives provided.
As participants are selected based on their Clubcard shopping behaviour, it is essential that the individual attending the session is the same person who was originally recruited. To verify identity, participants may be required to present valid photographic identification upon arrival at these sessions.
Failure to provide acceptable identification will result in the participant being denied entry to the session. In such cases, the participant will forfeit any incentive or compensation associated with their participation.
If you are invited to participate in a product test, we will provide an instruction sheet to let you know how to use the product samples that will be dispatched to you.
Some products sent in the product testing packs may not be suitable for use by people with eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, allergies, or other specific dietary requirements. Please take care to ensure anyone using these products is not allergic to or will not react adversely to any of the sample products' contents and always read the labels and packaging carefully before sampling.
Once any surveys have been completed, you may keep the product samples.
We may require you to return product samples if damage or faults have been identified during the trial. If that is the case, we will reimburse your postage costs as appropriate.
Most of our product trials will be assessed using a three-digit blinding code and the brands of the products being assessed will not be disclosed. Tesco reserves the right not to disclose any product branding or supplier details.
We may offer incentives that vary depending on research activity you engage in as part of the Scheme (e.g. face to face, accompanied shops, surveys). Incentives may take the form of points to be accumulated into vouchers, cash values in vouchers or the product itself. Where incentives are offered, the exact nature of such incentives (including any conditions) will be communicated to you before or at the time of your participation in the relevant research activity.
Once you reach the minimum threshold of 1000 points you will be automatically issued an incentive. Vouchers are subject to a redemption period/expiry date stated in the email at the time of issue and the threshold limit. Your points balance will reset to zero.
Vouchers can be redeemed with selected retailers via a third-party provider. Retailer options may change from time to time. Once a voucher is issued, it must be used before its expiry date. Tesco is unable to reissue expired vouchers.
The incentive scheme is offered at Tesco’s discretion and may be amended or withdrawn at any time without prior notice. Please note that incentives will not be awarded for: (i) incomplete responses or partially completed research activities; and (ii) product trials (e.g. home, clothing or food as the product, food or garment itself serves as the incentive).
Any incentives offered to you for your participation in the Scheme is for personal use only and not intended for resale. Any violation of this provision by a participant may result in forfeiture of incentives, removal from the relevant research activity or termination from this Scheme.
Participants are required to adhere to the scheduled times for research activities. Late attendance may result in the participant being denied entry to the session, thereby forfeiting any incentives (if offered). Tesco will not provide incentives for any cancellations or no-shows by participants.
Participants will receive points for completing the initial screener of any research activity. Full incentives for the in-person/online sessions will only be provided to participants that successfully attend and complete the session.
We may occasionally need to change the date, time, or location of a research session, and sometimes this may happen on short notice.
If a session is cancelled by us less than 48 hours before its scheduled start time, we may offer a goodwill gesture to affected participants. Any such gesture will be at Tesco’s discretion and varies depending on the circumstances.
Tesco does not cover expenses for attending qualitative in-person research sessions. In some cases, exceptions may apply, and these will be communicated to you in advance at Tesco’s discretion.
Prize draws sponsored by us or our clients may be made available to participants on our website. Please see our Privacy Policy for information on how we use data collected from such prize draws.
Unless otherwise stated in specific terms and conditions of these prize draws (which will be provided before or at the time of your participation in that prize draw), the below terms will apply:
All comments, feedback, or statements you submit regarding the relevant products provided to you during the Scheme, including any photographic or videographic content, (“Your Feedback”) must reflect your genuine experiences of that product.
By participating in the Scheme, you grant us the right to Your Feedback for research, marketing, and promotional purposes, including but not limited to publication on websites, social media, and other digital platforms.
You acknowledge and agree that use of your Feedback may be made without further notice to you and without further compensation, financial or otherwise. Your Feedback will be anonymised, unless you have given explicit permission to be identified beforehand.
All intellectual property rights on the Website, including its content and the compilation of this content are owned by us or licensed to us by third parties.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or otherwise use any part of the Website or its content without prior written permission, except as permitted by law.
For the purposes of these Terms, "Confidential Information" shall mean any commercially sensitive information disclosed by Tesco to you, which is marked as confidential or is reasonably understood to be confidential given the nature of the information and the circumstances of disclosure.
You shall keep the Confidential Information confidential and not disclose it to any third party without Tesco's prior written consent and take reasonable measures to protect the confidentiality of the Confidential Information, equivalent to those taken to protect your own confidential information.
The Scheme is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis and while we will do our best to ensure that this Website is available 24 hours a day, we cannot guarantee this. We expressly disclaim all warranties or representations of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
You understand and agree that any material and/or data obtained through the Scheme is at your own discretion and risk and that you will be solely responsible for any damage to your computer system or loss of data that results from the involvement with the Scheme.
We are not responsible for any loss or damage of any kind whatsoever that you suffer due to, or in connection with, your use of this Website or your participation in the Scheme, including as a result of any surveys or product tests, except where our negligence causes personal injury or death, or cannot otherwise be excluded at law.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
The Terms are between you and us. No other person has any rights to enforce any of its terms. Each of the paragraphs in these Terms operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them are unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining paragraphs will remain in full force and effect.
We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms and upon such assignment we shall be relieved of any further obligation under these Terms.
We may suspend or terminate your membership in the Scheme if:
Where possible, we will give you reasonable notice before termination unless immediate action is required (e.g. for fraud or unlawful activity).
Certain provisions (including those relating to intellectual property, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution) will continue to apply after your participation in the Scheme ends or your account is terminated, to the extent necessary to give effect to those provisions.
